The Glaysher Excess

Leslie is one of the few female Murray Camp coaches. In taking the supposedly "lower-end" groups it has often been thought that Campers are somehow getting off lightly by being allocated to Leslie. In fact nothing is further from the truth and, on closer examination, she turns out to be little different to the other coaches except that she employs a far more subtle technique (the word "subtle" being way beyond the vocabulary and capabilities of most of the other coaches).

Leslie's first task with her group is in building up their confidence: as any Murray Camp coach will tell you, the higher you get, the further you have to fall (often literally) - and this is equally true here. After a morning of intensive confidence building and encouragement, she will generally proceed straight into an afternoon of double black diamond runs. All accompanied by the same level of encouragement and positive feedback "oh, that was really good the way you went off that cornice, now if next time around you could concentrate on landing on your feet rather than your head, I think you might get a much better impression of how it is meant to feel. Well done though".
